The short version
This policy covers 70mm IMAX Tracker at 70mmtracker.com, brought to you by Frontrow. We keep your email address and the watch you set, and we use them to send you the seat alerts you asked for. We do not sell your information, we do not show ads, and we do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers. You can have everything deleted by writing to us.
What we collect
Your email address, which is how you sign in and where alerts go.
The watch you set: the film, the theaters you picked, how many seats, whether they must be together, the least notice you want before showtime, whether late-night shows count, and where in the room you like to sit.
A record of the alerts we have sent you, so we do not send the same one twice, and when your account was created.
Sign-in records kept by our sign-in provider for security, such as the time of a sign-in and the network address it came from. Like every website, our host also sees your network address and basic request details when you load a page.
That is the whole list. We do not ask for your name, your phone number, your location or a payment method.
To put the theaters nearest you first, the home page asks our host, Cloudflare, for its estimate of the city your connection comes from, rounded to about 10 kilometres. It is used in your browser for that page and is never stored.
How we use it
To send your sign-in code, to check the showings you are watching, and to email you when seats that match your watch open up. To keep the service running and secure, which includes stopping bots and abuse. To tell you about changes that affect you, such as changes to these policies or a paid plan starting. Nothing else.
Signing in here creates a Frontrow account, the same account the Frontrow iPhone app uses, so your watch is waiting for you if you install the app. Anything you log in the app is stored in that same account.
Why we are allowed to
We use your information because you asked us to: setting a watch and confirming your email is a request for the alerts, and we need your address and your watch to send them. We use sign-in and request records because we have a legitimate need to keep the service secure.
If you are in Canada, we rely on your consent under PIPEDA, which you give when you set a watch and confirm your email. You can withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing, by pausing or deleting a watch at /account, or by asking us to delete your account, and we will stop sending alerts.
In your browser
While you fill the form in, your answers and your email address are kept in this browser's local storage, so a reload does not lose them. They are removed once you confirm your code. Signing in to /account sets a session cookie so the page can show your watches; it carries no address, key or watch data of its own, and signing out or closing it ends the session. To change or stop a watch later, sign in at /account.
The only cookie this site sets itself is that /account session cookie, and only once you sign in there. Our host, Cloudflare, may set a security cookie to tell people from bots, and the sign-up form or /account may show a Cloudflare Turnstile check for the same reason. You can clear anything stored on this device by clearing site data in your browser.
We send the six-digit sign-in code, the alerts you asked for, and service notices, such as a change to these policies or a paid plan starting. If you tick "Send me Frontrow news" on the watch form, or turn Frontrow news on at your account page, we also send occasional news about Frontrow; every such email has a one-click unsubscribe, and unticking it or unsubscribing never affects your seat alerts.
Every alert carries a one-click unsubscribe, which we honour within two days, and a stop link for that watch. You can also pause or delete a watch at /account, or ask us to delete your account.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. A few companies help us run the service and handle data only to do that job for us:
- Our database host stores your account and your watch, and runs the sign-in.
- Our email provider delivers our email, including the sign-in code and the alerts.
- Cloudflare hosts the site, sees network addresses and request logs, and runs the Turnstile bot check.
- TMDB serves the film images on the site, so your browser asks image.tmdb.org for them and TMDB sees your network address.
We give information to the police or a court only when the law requires it. If Frontrow is ever sold or merged, your information would pass to the new owner under this policy, and we would tell you first.
How long we keep it
You can pause, edit or delete your watches at 70mmtracker.com/account, or stop one with the link in any of its alerts. A watch's record and the email tied to it are deleted automatically 30 days after that watch is stopped, deleted, or its film's run ends, and 30 days after your last sign-in. If you get Frontrow news, we keep your address for it until you unsubscribe. To have it removed sooner, write to hello@70mmtracker.com from the address you signed up with. You can also delete your account inside the Frontrow app. Backups kept by our database host are overwritten on their normal schedule, after which the data is gone from them too.
Security
Everything travels encrypted between your browser and our services. Access to the database is limited to the people who run the service. The database enforces row-level security, so each account can read only its own rows. No system is perfectly secure, but if something goes wrong that affects your information, we will tell you.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to hello@70mmtracker.com from the address you signed up with. We answer within 30 days and do not charge for it.
California residents: we do not sell or share personal information, as those words are defined in California law, and we do not use it for targeted advertising. You have the right to know, correct and delete, and we will not treat you differently for using them.
Canadian residents: you have the right under PIPEDA to access the personal information we hold about you and to have it corrected. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child under 13 has signed up, write to us and we will delete the account.
Where it is stored
Your information is stored in the United States. If you are outside the United States, including in Canada, it is moved to and handled there, where the law may give different protection than at home.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we update the date at the top. If a change matters, for example a new kind of data or a new use for it, we email account holders before it takes effect.
